I listened to an old actor, Theodore Bikel as he sat homeless on his land, now taken by the tax man and happily so. Yes, just a story but isn't that what's been happening for the past five years or more? As Charles Ingles came to boost the man's spirits, it was the man who lost his home who did the boosting. Yes, times are different, but his main point was we live in best country in the world.
So what has happened to this world ? Values & Greed. We give in to children to keep them happy, make them love us more, keep them quiet, let them keep up with the kids next door and... we need a two parent income. Yet I wonder about that too.
If a married couple starts early enough, sets goals and doesn't feel a need to own a Benz, a three story home, four TV sets, the latest in IPhone, big fancy vacations, keep up with the jet set type of status, they can still live a very good life. I know according to whom? Hey, just my opinion, and don't forget those eighty-dollar televison packages that would pay a water, trash and planet fitness membership.
