Congressman/Women, Glorified Welfare

Everyone is aware of the cycle of welfare with many families. I'm not writing about those in serious need. Isn't the cycle of our congress the same? Do those on welfare work ? Some do under the table because of need to supplement their needs, just like congress who sleep during sessions. They're supplementing their needs. Have you ever watched a law take effect? Have you read what is supped to be read to make a law?  I have. I've done that with a foster son.
I took him to visit a congressman from Philadelphia with an appointment. We were expected. I bought this child a new suit, shoes, took him to a barber and had the congressman's initials carved into the side, shaved into the side of his hair. This was an African American congressman as was the child who was thirteen.  I was looking for a role model. But what I found was a man who ended up by saying basically, I can't use him because you said I can't use his picture. If a child is with Children and youth, their photo cannot be used for publicity. That congressman has since been arrested.
Back to GLORIFIED Welfare and Congress. They call it term limits. I call is a cycle of abuse!
They collect without little giving back. They take and take and take, long after they retire or resign. They're families receive benefits ! When will it stop ? It won't. Like Welfare, until someone puts a stop to it, this is what we get.
Both receivers are like a team and both want more, never satisfied to the entitlements they get and they always want more. This is why congress has a heart for Welfare. They understand very well the cycle of accepting freebies.
Many won't read this or even care but those who do and want to do something need to vote out every freeloading congressman and woman and start fresh. Yes, I know there are a few good people working for the US, but so what ! Don't give them a chance to become welfare accepting in congress. Vote new people in who will work for what they get and if we don't see changes in their two years, out they go! Don't take any BS like well it takes more than two years for change!  IT doesn't and you know it. How soon does it take for them to vote raises in for themselves? A few weeks?
Remember this is only the high end of Welfare Glorified ! They have all of the they want, need, and so much more. They don't wait to see a doctor, kids go to the best schools, drive great cars, live in fine homes, have maids, wear fancy eyeglasses-no I'm not being petty but realistic. They don't save for a vacation, stay in cheap motels, have to do without a/c or heating. Their dental needs are easily met, not waiting for  a dentist who might see them if they have enough money or insurance. If their car breaks down, they fix it. It doesn't sit until they can afford. These people are the WEALTHY WELFARE-The CYCLE of using and abusing the system they set up for themselves ! Vote them all out!

Vegan vs. Drs. and Skin Care= Hypocrites

Opening my screen page this morning I noticed a giant ad for skin care and it looks by all appearances something worth reading. A heart surgeon introduces himself and starts talking about a motorcycle guy who lost weight and also noticed how his skin cleared up. I'm not going to bore you with all of the bluster. It was only a minute or so in that I wonder, what is this guys selling but I have patience, and waited, and waited, Finally he gets to what he's selling.

But he made a huge mistake this doctor Mundry ? In the middle and yes, I'm glad I did listen for so long as the good doctor stated," look at Vegans, their skin glows".

So why in the world would anyone need supplements? He also stated that good skin comes from the inside out.  Yup, in the food we eat.  Good Luck and try to eat more greens!

PHd. Vs. DR. Titles & REAL DOCTORs

Why should a person be allowed to call them selves Dr. John Smith or Dr. Mary Smith for example ? I have a problem with that. It's misleading and an ego trip, although legal. Maybe colleges just figured a way to get more money and ow those with phd's do also.
When people get a PHD they are assumed to be more of an expert in a specific field, but not the medical field. There is also a world of difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist yet going into certain offices, both are addressed as Dr's. doctors. Having a doctorate degree does not make you a doctor, only makes you someone who  has a doctorate.
How did the word "doctor" become so loose? Doctors, real doctors go to medical school for many more years than those who receive a doctorate of a certain profession, like ENGLISH. See The difference ? There isn't a law that states you have t address someone with a PhD as DR. So let start a change.  Now, let show real doctors they deserve the respect of there years of medical work by not calling those with a PhD, doctor.
Is there a doctor in the house? A Real doctor?

Want To Be SIck ? Empty Hospitals now.

Imagine having to go to a hospital emergency and it's almost empty every day of the week, every weekend night with the exception of a bunch of bums who get into fights, someone misusing a chainsaw, or a kid who broke an arm?

I have seen this movie a few times and it isn't easy at first, well it was the first time I saw it. I went home and dumped all the crap in my fridge and cabinets that were making me feel like sludge !
Then a big stressor came into my life and I turned back to all the crappy food I was used to eating all my life.
Let's put things in perspective for arguments sake:
People say, people always got cancer
People say, People always had heart attacks
People say, Diabetes was always around
              People say, we need medicine
Why do people say all of this and more ? Because they are afraid of change. They are lazy, they think good food is expensive. They say, generations lived for many years eating mashed potatoes, meat and corn. Partly true, but have you been around during those generations ? If you were you will remember ho quickly people died from cancer and heart attacks, and you will also remember the United States never had a diabetes outbreak that we have now and with kids who are dying younger than their parents.
With a change in what you eat as in non toxic fruits and vegetables that haven't been sprayed with poisonous chemicals and with a change in letting go of dairy and meats, you can and will live longer  but most importantly, healthier and happier. Remember that word Gusto ? Gusto comes back like gangbusters.
Get rid of doctor bills, pharmacy bills and medicines and get rid of hospitals. They have have a purpose, but not as they have come to be. Look at a waiting room in a doctors office or hospital. It's almost popular to be sick. People sit around and talk about what's wrong with them. They compare who is worse ! What if you talked about what's right with you ? Just go to the library, get the video, Forks over Knives.
Here is how I started: I already had instant oatmeal, and not the little sugar filled packets. Already had raisins and walnuts, eggs (hard for me to give up) frozen vegetables, frozen berries and protein powder. I started with that. I also had sweet potatoes. These few things became my basic foods to eat every day. I also tarted adding salads with beans of all kinds, even canned. I had to change the taste in my mouth that I was already used to tasting, like a big fat juicy burger or steak. I loooooove mashed potatoes. So I bought some frozen dinners to spoil myself once in a while that had a few teaspoons of mashed, fake potatoes.
It all worked as I lost, 6, 6 7, and 6 pounds each week and I felt so happy. I wasn't thinking about weight loss just feeling mentally and physically good. I called my doctor thinking I had something wrong with me as my jeans were getting so loose. He laughed, reminding me of my new change in eating habits. Whew! Try it and you'll start to throw away blood pressure meds, hypertension, diabetes and on and on. Imagine not seeing your doctor for a year? No more hospitals, no more medicines. Put the money back in your pocket and the health and happiness back in your life ! Watch Forks Over KNIVES

Mercy Ships, for Africa, Christians

It's been a while since I saw this story, but since it was on again tonight I watched it. This show was a bit different, showing people with tumors that come from Dental disease and then are treated as if they were invaded by evil spirits, in Africa. The faces were covered, disfigured, and people barely able to breathe, but saved by Mercy ships.
Mercy Ships are funded by Corporations, and Christians missions and the people who donate their time and talents? They pay to go. Imagine volunteering all of your medical knowledge and service and paying to go, to belong to this unique group of men and women?
These are true Christians. We just don't hear enough about them. No matter where they are, they are there. but we hear more about crime and evil. I guess that makes for better news and captures out curiosity or nosiness.
People now have vision and can breathe and are no longer disfigured thanks to Mercy Ships. A great thing.

Second Opinions Doctors

It is definitely worth it. Not long ago a few people were discussing taking a doctor at his or her word and making money asap. It was decided that a certain doc was trying to boost their bank account by trying to do a procedure in a hospital when it could have as is usually done in an office.
The doctor was in official business for nine years and gave good advice if a person wanted a second opinion. This doc said, so you don't pay for your records have the other doctors office request them. Yes, very good advice. The doc also said if this was her relative they would definitely get a second opinion.
So does that mean they don't have enough confidence in them selves or are they really so sure, they feel, go ahead and get that other voice. Also I was told you can get your fees/costs up front by calling the hospital and asking what will it cost for each and every part of this little outpatient investigation?
I wonder if a person can also ask the doc what they get too? Either way, look around for another opinion and as far as labs go, get a second lab to check that out too. You can even do that in another state. You can also see a doctor in another state.
Insurance? I can't answer anything about that. But no one should have to go without medical treatment due to lack of insurance. Good luck with second opinions. They pay off.

77 yrs.old, No Meds, 45.Co-Pay

As I walked over to the Deli isle to pick up spinach flat bread, A womans' voice said, "I never thought I'd  see you here". I joked very little and said me too, usually I come early mid week so I don't see anyone. She said she was sorry. Oh crapola I thought, I didn't mean to hurt her feelings and in turn I apologized and said well, I'm off. I like to get in, shop quickly and out. But guilt set in and I made a mental note to be nicer next time I see her.
As I'm leaving there she was again next to me. This time I slowed down. I would see her at my local post office from time to time walking with a walker. Today she had a cane. I asked on the way out, so are you feeling better using a cane? Then it came, rushing as if a flood. "No", she said, "my walker broke and I can't get another one yet because I need to go to the doctor but I can't afford the forty-five dollar co-pay."
Oh Crapola again. She went on, "I'm seventy-seven years old and my husband died five years ago, so my daughter helps by paying rent but not much and I still don't have money."  We finally got out of the store and I asked her a few questions about , would she sit down with someone who could work out a plan so she wouldn't have to go without meds and doctor visits. She wouldn't. She told me, I'll see you at the post office and  my address is---- so now you know where I live. I just said okay, thanks.
I watched her walk off to her vehicle and thought well at least she can drive and afford that to give her some freedom. But I got in my car and thought about her giving me her address. Why would she--- oh, okay, she wanted to  stop in and visit-maybe? That wasn't like me and I knew I wouldn't, but I did know that soon, I could put some money in an envelope and leave it for her at the post office. I know that wasn't her reason for telling me. Sometimes ya just have to vent and only want an ear, someone to understand and know that just because
your venting doesn't mean you want something for nothing. Old people and kids are the loneliest people. Sometimes people think old people just want to be left alone, and many do and sometimes people think,  how can a kid be lonely? Walk in their shoes and you'll know why.
I rode home thinking long and hard about her and how fortunate I am. I know doctors have to be paid and maybe her doctor doesn't know her situation, but people can make payment plans, yet, how do you even do that if you just don't have the money. I remember her one small bags of groceries, her look of helplessness and the sign at the check-out asking for food bank donations. I make it my business each time to tack five bucks on, but usually if the cashier asks, or I just don't think about it.
People might look at her and think, wow this lady sure has enough to eat, but I know how poverty is. I came from a large family and we all ate well every day and we even had apples and oranges, but that didn't mean my parents never made those big pot meals to stretch the budget. About three times a week we had, a pot of pea soup with either potatoes or sliced hot dogs in it, loads of bread and butter, then we'd have pizza sandwiches, very filling and of course some chicken or mac and baked cheese.  I still love Pea soup. Whew! Just think about that makes me want to go to the local convenience store and buy two containers of mac n cheese, and then, I think  about that forty-five dollar co-pay. There but for the Grace of God go I.

AML-8 Types, Deadly

Recently a young guy I knew passed away from AML, a type of cancer/leukemia that studies show, if you're very young or older than sixty, your chance of survival is higher, but if you're between twenty-five and forty-five you have a five window and the chances are higher you won't live.
Last night I was talking to my friend who just lost her son, and her husband was killed two days before her son died. The enormous grief, I can't imagine.
She taught me, that there is more than one type of AML. Sandy let me know about eight different types of AML. She is sitting and reading all about this now as she did before her son died. But then is was mainly about the type her son had.
She is returning to work next week. How does a grief stricken parent go on. Yes, I know, a day at a time. But I wonder about cancer research. Where are we?

My first memory of cancer was so many years ago, I was just a child. Cancer research has come a long way, but why aren't we told enough. Oh sure every so often we hear a little bit but even then it's just something like, detection early for survival. That is great, but what about a cure?  A cure for cancer so people don't even have to go through it.

A guest doctor was on the Dr. OZ show a few days ago. He stated that he and Dr. OZ are outdated about cancer. He stated invasive procedures make cancers spread, that if left alone they will just go away. I wouldn't want to take that chance. But what he did say and what we are learning is we are born with cancer cells, so in order to not let them grow, we need to eat what God provides, not food with preservatives, and not food that has been altered, frozen,  or colored such as cereals.
Me? I'm still working on it, a day at a time.

Thank a Nurse...

Who else would wipe your butt? I know, eeewww, but it's true. How many times do you know someone who has told you all kind of hospital stories and leaves out the crusty stuff ? They bathe you, wipe you, listen to you, make your bed, and do just about anything to get you through a day in a place you may not want to be. I say may not because some people like being there. Some are chronic, as in hypocondriacs and need that attention. Who else gives ya sympathy when no one around you will?
Years ago when I was in a hospital in California I had a tiny, tiny nurse with a tiny voice to match. I was lying on my side feeling down because I was away from my two children. She came to me and say, aww honey you look so sad, are you okay? I don't like that kind of talk, makes a person feel worse. I could feel tears, but wishing she would leave I was able to hold back, and then, then she did the unbearable; She patted my shoulder and saw oh sweetie it's okay if you cry, I know you miss your babies. Yup, that did it. What a big bawl baby I was. Now if she just left me alone I would have been fine, but no, she had to go and act sweet.

But that's who they are, most of them anyway. Another nurse at a local hospital one day woke me up after a back surgery by punching my thigh. Yes, she punched me. I yelled hey what are you doing. This young woman was very pretty, but also very bitter. She had cancel a while ago and her husband left her while they were skiing. Her illness and divorce were so fresh I found out I wasn't the only one she was taking her anger out on. Standing over me and smiling she said, hey sleepyhead, you're not dying, wake  up! What the hell was that. I ignored her, turned over and she knuckled me hard in the other thigh. At that time in my life I was still very much a weenie, took a lot of crap from people. She said I'm getting your wash basin, and you better be awake when I get back. I was. Sitting up I rang the buzzer and another nurse came in asking me what I needed that she wasn't my nurse and...and I said please, make that other nurse stay away from me. She hit me twice and...just then she walked in. I was lucky though. The last nurse took her out in the hall, and she came back in to assist me and then told me about the first nurse and all her problems.
I had such great treatment that morning after the first nurse, and I doubt it was to make up for the first person, but knew that I was usually treated well. The doctors come in, visit a little and leave you back to the nurses. Most take into consideration all of your issues. If you complain a lot, if your used to being spoiled, if you have a big mouth, if you don't complain enough. I, at that time fit into the last category. Having the second surgery on my back, I was made to get up the second day and sit in a chair which itself had an angle that sloped down and back. The nurse said she'll be back in ten minutes. Well that passed twenty minutes later and she wasn't back.
Almost forty minutes later still not back my room mate and I could hear the nurses arguing down the hall. My Room mate was a wonderful lady from Yugoslavia with a nice husband who visited her twice a day. He greeted me each time, asked if I needed anything and was just a pleasure to see them both together. Well I tried calling the nurse, and after that forty minutes my face was getting white and I was having a hard time breathing. My room mate gets up, holds onto the beds, and makes it to the door, calling and cursing, hey you damn people she said, where the hell are you when we need you?
My nurse came back saying she had an emergency, and apologized, but my room mate wouldn't let her get away with that. She said oh no you didn't, you were with that doctor, I saw you and am reporting you, who do you think...on and on she went. Other than that one time, that young lady was my nurse and treated me very good, but her head was elsewhere. She was involved with a married doctor.
The next day she came in my room to talk to me again and apologize again to both me and my room mate. She ended up telling us she had quite a few flings with the doctors and how messed up her personal life was. With her strong accent, my room mate said, well maybe you get your head out of the sand, away from this hospital, and think over your life, they are just using you! Strong words, but they helped. That nurse gave her notice the next day. She wasn't there when I left almost two weeks later.
All in all Nurses do a great job and where we would be without them?
