Boy Scouts Pushes, Boy Dies from Heat Stroke

       As I sat and listened to this heart wrenching story of a boy who died, parents crushed because of a senseless, didn't need to happen, never should have happened, losing their son from heat stroke. But it was just heat stroke. This young boy was supposed to be on a certain trail for beginners and he just learned how to backpack. He wasn't physically fit to be on another trail where he was and climbed/hiked about three miles. At the top of the climb he kept grabbing water, knowing something was wrong. He had heat stroke!
         The parents were called and drove to the site as fast as they could. IT was too late. He died and the boy scouts gave him the badge he earned. This piece to me was an insult. I heard this story on The Doctors tonight and one of the doctors stated, but he did get his badge and this is a good organization. She wanted also to make sure people knew there is a wrongful death suit against The Boy Scouts. WHY? What was her purpose in doing that, saying that first, what?
      Damn right there should be a lawsuit! Wow, so great he earned a badge! IT wasn't worth it. Who Put that boy on the risky trail. The temperature was one point away from, too hot to hike, yet the hike went n putting all those kids at risk. WHY???
              Heat stroke happens to anyone anywhere at anytime. Mowing the lawn which brought me back to my daughter years ago. She wanted to mow and my son washed dishes. It was what they wanted. She convinced me she was fine, it wasn't that hot out. For me, any summer day is too hot. She used a push mower and it wasn't long before she came in face flushed, laying flat out on the floor. That ended mowing on too hot days. IT was only grass after all, and not too long after I hired a kid who had a riding mower. Thank God she was okay.
     Kids who play football now practice at night. Why? It's still too hot. Find indoor arenas to play. Better yet, dump these summer sports that bring on so many head injuries and heat strokes, and heart attacks. You need your child and your children need you. No matter how much they beg, love wins out. Don't let them talk you into this stuff where other adults who want to look good are n charge of your kids, make these life and DEATH decisions.
     Sure many of you are thinking I'm over reacting. But these are kids, KIDS!  You're in control, PROTECT them, love them, keep them safe, as safe as you can.

Mental Health's True Stigma

       How do you care for your mental health, or do you even think about it ? Your mind, it's health needs the same amount of attention as your physical health does. So why do so many "smart " people ignore it and knowing they have a problem with what's happening with their brain ?
       The mental health STIGMA isn't the same as it was years ago. Then, because of lack of education and compassion, understanding and personal knowledge as if someone in the family was ill, it appeared as if people were "just nuts". Most people, every day people didn't understand that mental illnesses was something caused by a chemical imbalance and in most situations is genetic.

       Right now, be honest with yourself and look at your family. Do you have a parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent or sibling who truly has a mental illness?

         How many times have you heard, it isn't mental illness, so stop saying that, he or she just needs to grow up, get their act together?. How many years has that been the disguise? That's just what it is, a disguise,a phrase mom or dad uses to hide the truth from others, others who probably already know yet are hoping mom or dad, or the sibling with an illness will face the truth and do something.

          I don't mean do just anything like join a gym, join a church, but I do mean do something such as get involved in a community that offers mental health help, weekly or daily therapy. If you do nothing here is where the true stigma comes in, doing nothing. Your real self shows every day in your words and actions and don't think those you work with don't know it. They do. Behind your back they are talking, "what's wrong with him/her ?" They higher ups will be careful in placing you in certain positions. Believe it or not, you're replaceable. I don't care how good or great you are. Younger and smarter are coming up right behind you.

        You can't hide forever in your uniform, the way you dress, wearing a collar, playing sports, shiny shoes, a suit/dress or even how much academic knowledge you may have. It catches up and eventually becomes public. The STIGMA is knowing and doing nothing. One day you will have a full blown breakdown in public, an office, a parking lot, traffic, a classroom, a bank, wherever and not understand why this is happening to you. Here's why its happening to you....you let it, your family let it happen in that disguise. Smart?  If  you ignored, and disguised it this long you probably need long term therapy. NO? That's the Stigma

Kids Brain Football injuries

       Yeah, I know these are just kids. They can't get hurt like the big guys. You should hear what I am listening to right now. Grown up professional players do not want their own kids playing football. One, I think it was Brett Farve has said, I don't remember my daughter ever playing soccer. Others don't remember so much and wonder how their brain has been damaged. There is a billion dollar settlement under way for brain injuries.
      It is being said now, it will take moms to do something about stopping kids from playing football. Men want and love the roughness and toughness of the game and think, hey they're boys, they need to play football. When they have brain damage will that same man be able to pay the bills, will he be able to sit and watch, take care of a son, now brain damaged because of football? It only takes one hit ! They only have one life.

Think about it. Save your sons, now.

Sports Stars Vs. Duck Dynasty

     I am watching The O'Reilly Factor at 8:22 Eastern time and listening to a black(Juan ?) man speak about Jessee Jackson, in an honest way-that Jackson is really looking to insert himself anywhere he can for money.
   The regular newsman, this is also advertised as fox43, so I am again confused. All of this piece started out as being about Phil Robertson and Duck Dynasty's  24 hour marathon where Phil is supposed to be indefinitely suspended. Now as I stated in  a post, consequences come with being outspoken, principles or not, but good for you Phil and family.
      Now lets go to another place, Sports stars and kids. How many sports stars/celebrities have used over and over again, steroids, performance enhancing drugs, beat and raped women, yet earn millions a year with little punishment.
Who's fault is all of this. The American Public=stupidity. The only thing that will change what we don't like is to stop buying tickets, stop buying sports memorabilia, stop paying crazy prices for people who offend, change the channel's, do not buy, do not buy, and do not buy from those who offend.
      The owners of these teams are all saying we, The American Public will take any kind of crap;Let the rape our girls & women, let them take drugs, let them kill, let them drive drunk. let them carry guns because googly eye fans will still pay, they will still watch, they will still buy. Who are we to blame ? US!!!! IDIOTS !!!
      Teach your children. You don't like what Phil Robertson says, Change the channel you idiots ! Make an example for kids to follow. Why do we have so many school shootings ? Look who we idolize-stupid, idiot, morons keep watching, continue to let kids see the same thing.
   I will watch Duck Dynasty and I don't need to explain why to anyone. I won't buy anything sports related that I know has had an influence, negative on the American public's children.
   OH let's take Hollywood while I'm at it. We love our favorite actors, but as adults we need to be cautious when we say front of our children, Oh I gotta see that!. We're adults and hopefully smarter. Teens brains have not developed yet, no until about age 22. So for God's sake, for G_D's sake, for Heavens sake-do the right thing for your kids, and for the future of all kids.  Change the channel, stop buying sports materials, sneakers too after all they're mostly made in China, Love your country, love your family and feet. Make better choice this year. Keep your money at home with you where you have earned it and don't spend on idiots!!!!

Ohio Rape Case

    Have you followed this case? Some will, probably more in Ohio. It will be those who are directly affected by this, all of the families. The town seems only to worry about the name they are getting instead of the victim. If they would only ask this of themselves and answer honestly, what if that was my daughter?

    This is my opinion. Many cases also convict the witness, the people who stood by, said nothing, did nothing, drunk or sober, they knew. In a very large case at Penn State and yes I know I'm talking miles apart here, but look who was fired for not doing enough, or turning their backs. Deservedly so,  especially when we're talking about children.
    So now again this is about children. Another form of bullying, assault, a demeaning action, brave football players, male species. What the hell is wrong with Sports when men or young men behave like this and feel they should get away with it by blaming the victim !!!!
   Sure she was drunk, so drunk she couldn't willingly participate. She was pulled apart!
     She was spread eagled by legs and arms while others watched! They did nothing. Why have they not been arrested too for depraved indifference????
   The town should come together in defense of the victim, and yes I know moms and dads don't want to believe their sons would do what they did. If any "thing" is to blame here, it's alcohol and no matter what, people need to pay for their crimes. This girl will live a long time with the shame of all of this and so must the perpertrators. If not, can you picture this? A bunch of big guys walking out of the court room, smiling, hugging, laughing and slapping one another on the back and saying to each other, hey man, we got off, that B----- almost got us.
Is that how you raised your son?
