AML-8 Types, Deadly

Recently a young guy I knew passed away from AML, a type of cancer/leukemia that studies show, if you're very young or older than sixty, your chance of survival is higher, but if you're between twenty-five and forty-five you have a five window and the chances are higher you won't live.
Last night I was talking to my friend who just lost her son, and her husband was killed two days before her son died. The enormous grief, I can't imagine.
She taught me, that there is more than one type of AML. Sandy let me know about eight different types of AML. She is sitting and reading all about this now as she did before her son died. But then is was mainly about the type her son had.
She is returning to work next week. How does a grief stricken parent go on. Yes, I know, a day at a time. But I wonder about cancer research. Where are we?

My first memory of cancer was so many years ago, I was just a child. Cancer research has come a long way, but why aren't we told enough. Oh sure every so often we hear a little bit but even then it's just something like, detection early for survival. That is great, but what about a cure?  A cure for cancer so people don't even have to go through it.

A guest doctor was on the Dr. OZ show a few days ago. He stated that he and Dr. OZ are outdated about cancer. He stated invasive procedures make cancers spread, that if left alone they will just go away. I wouldn't want to take that chance. But what he did say and what we are learning is we are born with cancer cells, so in order to not let them grow, we need to eat what God provides, not food with preservatives, and not food that has been altered, frozen,  or colored such as cereals.
Me? I'm still working on it, a day at a time.

Michelle Dances, Congress QUITS, R these Role Models

How many have seen a few latest photo ops for Michelle Obama. She still travels, still makes appearances that don't have any bearing on improving the country, just more use of tax payer dollars and Congress QUITS.
The Blame game goes all the way to the top. Is this the message we want to send to our kids. When a child asks mom or dad why they can no longer afford to pay rent or the mortgage, mom and dad will say, well son, Congress can't get along and so these people who make decisions for the country just up and took a day off. Now the public will pay.
But dad, the son asks how come Mrs. Obama can afford to travel and be on television. Well son, that's because she doesn't pay for it and she also gets people to protect her, not like us who live regular every day lives.
But dad what about the president? He gets protected too right? So why doesn't he make sure we're protected? Well son he just doesn't really have to worry about the public right now.
I know I got off track, but I'm sure you get the point. I opened up my PC this morning and the first thing I see is Michelle Obama on Rachael Ray, and she was on Dr. OZ the other day. Who pays for this celebrity status she's wants so badly? Okay Democrats will say but she's pushing health. BIG FREAKIN DEAL !
She isn't the type of person we need doing this stuff-we need to hear more from nutritionists and professionals, and how moms and dads feed their kids and get them to move, not Michelle. Yes, I know she's a mom, but at what cost does these appearances cost the American public.
If she wants to do good, put on a pair of jeans and help rebuild homes, feed people, clothe people, work in Aids clinics, volunteer at hospitals that are shorthanded. Stop being Mrs. Celebrity, unless of course that's your goal after the white house, moving to Hollywood.

Congress 4 day Work? Week? QUITTERS !!!

As I watched these men and women leave this morning before ten a.m. with the attitude they couldn't do anymore at this point, I see why so many every day people give up. Look who we have elected to congress! QUITTERS!
They couldn't even bother to finish a five day week as most AMERICANS-(who elect them)- do with some effort !  What an example they set for the world, but   do they really care?
Nah...why should they? We elected them to get paid anyway, get great benefits, not have to stand on unemployment lines, have wonderful retirement plans, not pay into social security because they'll get a great compensation package anyway. These "people who care" need to go without all of the benefits they thinks they are so deserving of. CITIZENS, remember today in the next election-FIRE THEM ALL!!!

Single Dads Vs. Stay at Home Dads

What's the difference? Support is the difference. There are so many single father's who do a great job, but what do many people think about more? Deadbeat dads. What about deadbeat moms? More and more life takes a seesaw effect. Change happens with the economy. In addition because a mom or dad doesn't have custody it doesn't mean they're a poor parent. We just don't know why. The most likely reason is again, economics. Sure there are the no-good parents. We know who many of them are, may even have been raised by them, but let's not assume.

What I don't understand is why single dads are seemingly getting more praise than single moms. To be honest maybe I feel that way because I am a woman and a single mom, with now grown children on their own. But I never received praise. Myself and many women received catty comments such as, oh she must be....all kinds of names, yet a single guy gets, oh you must be such a great dad. What a bunch of crapola! You can be either a poor or good parent, married or single. Take people as they are. Don't group them all together.

Now stay at home dads; Recently there was an article on line about what stay at home dads do better. I didn't even bother to read it. Why? Because again it comes down to the individual. Dads who stay at home are just as fortunate as moms who stay at home for any kind of reason. It usually comes down to who can earn more money, economics. But also in that equation other factors should come into play. Will one parent be a better stay at home parent ? Most times, no. What about health benefits ? Which parent has benefits that will benefit the family as a whole. Do stay at home parents think about the time when the kids enter school ?

What then? Start looking now? Train for a job that will offer a better future now? Do on-line education ? Go back to your old job, No. If it didn't support the family then it won't now. Which ever gender stays home, you should prepare always, for a just in case happening. What if your spouse loses their job? Get something serious your kids will be proud of. Start a stay at home business? Start a community support business? Has anyone ever heard of dads doing a day care? Why not? Because old thinking that men can't do it as well as women, or aren't trustworthy. Stereotypical Crapola! They can do it just as well and are just as trustworthy.
All in all, we all need to support families...enough said.

Products, Martha vs. Big Lots & Ollies

A few days ago I went to Big Lots. Try as I might to buy only American products, America itself makes it hard to do, but outsourcing jobs sending a message to Americans that, you're not good enough. Okay, I am getting distracted already with a subject that just pisses me off, so back on track.

I don't know where Martha's products are made as I just don't buy them. When someone makes as much as she does and sure, well earned, but is charged with tax fraud or some crapola fraud, that's just plain greed.

Well I hit Big lots to buy curtains or drapes within my budget which is very little. While Martha charges 19.97 for one curtain panel or drapery panel, I found a decent pair at Big Lots for 12.00 . I don't trust my sewing skills to make something fairly nice for the living room, but will for other rooms, you know the rooms people don't see.

Here is another idea for curtain or drapery shopping. If you can afford it, hire an American neighbor to do the job. It keeps the American working.

Good luck with your bargain shopping !
