Delivery Fee? Pay Someone Else

I just looked at delivery fees for Macy's delivery fees. They are nuts ! To me it's just lain greed. Yes two men or women may be needed and I consider the gas, but 90. for a sofa ? Come on Americans, pay a friend with a truck and help the friend out, or rent  a van and 40., take a good friend along and have free help, then you return the favor. Of course they will tell you, we can't be responsible for damages once it leaves the store-so inspect before it leaves the store.
These companies have not one hand in your pocket but three, two which belong to the company and another for the hell of it. Macy's charges up to 190. for delivering 5 piece of furniture and of course we don't know until we get there and order to see what five pieces entails. Imagine how you can help a friend out for that much? I would rather pay my repairman the same price than to pay and overcharging company the fee.
Help your friend and do the same. Watch out for delivery fees and before you go, talk to a few people, even ask at a local church if they have someone with a truck who can help. Remember God helps those who help them selves :)

A Child's Truck...a poem a day

A Child's Truck

Have you seen my truck today?
or did my truck drive away?
I looked under my bed this morning
and on the porch as light was dawning.

I played with it all of yesterday
waiting for it to drive away
it wouldn't go where I thought
was it because it was bought?

Like people my truck is sometimes pretty
and some people live in New York City
I saw trucks drive in the street
where people cross and trucks will sweep.

I saw trucks in the country too
I wanted to travel with drivers who
saw the world with their big truck
but my dad said I have to grow up.

Have you seen my truck today
I now keep it under my bed
and when I go to sleep at night
I keep driving in my head.

I think I'll take my truck and I will pack it full
Inside I'll put a pillow and a blanket made of wool
I'll add some snacks,  and a map of course
and I'll also take along my very happy horse.

Good night mom and good night dad
Thank for imaginations you both have
you gave me dreams to wish about
when I grow up in my own house

I'll teach my kids like you taught me
to take your trucks seriously
I'll give them ideas and happy times
show all my trucks in neon limes

Reds and greens, blues and browns
show them the city and country towns
show them roads on all kinds of maps
cars and trucks without mishaps

Have you seen my truck today-or did my truck just drive away?

Poor Poeople, Poor Neighborhoods

Okay I'm taking care of what should have been done a long time ago, earning money and bring people together. See how smart I am. By the way, I did post this stuff a few years ago and suggest it where ever I go, which isn't far anymore since being retired and poor myself :)

How many times do we complain to the government, go to community meetings, complain ur taxes are too high? Well okay I can't help with the tax thing but just have patience and look at this:
We need to befriend our neighbors more, use the talents you all do have and combine them. You, together can make business blocks. Do you have trash? Recyclables? Know someone with a truck in the hood? Pay them to haul your trash away. He then will need a mechanic, so let him pay a neighbor friend. Can you paint, houses, in and out? Get a few people, men and women together and grab it from the bigger companies. There is so much work out there, but we get an attitude of, oh who will hire me.
Can you sew? Can a few people sew on the block? Need a sitter, ask. How many older women would love to sit, sew, bake, cook, feel useful. In addition, how many older, younger people have craft talents, that the neighborhood can rent  a booth at a local market and sell those excellent crafts?
Just because you're poor, live in a bad neighborhood, or just a poor neighborhood, doesn't mean you are less valued than someone like Donald Trump. But it does mean you simply haven't tapped into the resources nearest you.
Need advertisements. Use your kids, They are computer savvy. Get a wagon, make wooden signs, stencils, let the kids sell them door to door, with the rules of course like never go inside, never, ever, ever !
Make your kids more useful too. Give them more home chores as well as some early business in home training. Now go ahead, use your talents and take away some of that big fat money from the big fat greedy businesses. Oh if you need a website, go to A-SHOP shopping cart. You can create your own site for 25. a month. Happy business people:)
PS don't look at my doozybags site yet-it isn't up

Chevy Silverado, oh yeah!Chevrolet, see the USA in a Chevrolet

Again today as I got back into my car which I am very thankful for, I see a big beautiful Red Chevy Silverado pull up beside me. It's almost like a commercial. I see them a lot around here and I especially notice the Chevy's that are red or a certain blue, with two seats. Oh man I love them. I try not to covet, you know, want what the other person has, and simply be satisfied with what I have. I am satisfied, but yet I find myself wishing for a CHEVY MIRACLE.
Remember those old commercials, See the USA with a Chevrolet... now that was a tune with a vehicle to never be forgotten. Chevy Trucks are the best. In case you don't need yours just consider me a willing recipient:) Who wouldn't have a sense of pride with a Chevy Truck?

What I want for Christmas

A royal blue truck two seater I say
with a big box out back, hauling hay
or carrying a storm door, won't fit in my trunk
saw on sale a set of twin bunks
I'll even take red a color I love
I knew as kid from the stars above

I'd see a red flash , was it Santa I saw
or all of my daydreams left at the door
So I still wish and sometimes pray
for that great big truck coming my way
But I am happy to have what I do
the love of my children, my only two.

I'll go a step more thinking about
a truck I want to not be without
yet I know who am I to deserve such a thing
but should it happen, 4 ever I sing
This is Christmas a season for giving
for me, for now, I thankful for living.

One more small note as I leave this page
on this Friday a week away
comes the reason as most do know
the gifts of giving should help others so
they start a new year with hope to grow
a new sense of faith and seeds to sow.

Merry Christmas Everyone, Everywhere...
P.S.    Please leave the truck outside my door
