Dr. Oz Real Concerns , what are they?

As I sit on my lazy backside, due to a nagging and uncomfortable back, I find myself as usual getting up and down out of boredom and not wanting to give in to this ache. So here comes Dr. Oz.
If you are not confused by now, you should be because he is more complex than the vitamins we take. His first guest today was a DR. Alejandro Junger who was on one time before. He did a show segment on a three day cleanse, concerned with vitamins and eating correctly, and had five or six female guest to talk about how wonderful his way is and how beneficial it is. No men? That would be rare and I no longer wonder why. Anyway a big part of his presentation is how the stomach has a brain bigger than the one in our head and to me it all made sense.
For you, if it makes sense, well that might help too.
Okay so now this other guy comes on. He is a chef/writer for a big newspaper, whose name escapes me. But his take on food is this: go vegan before six P.M. after that, have  a steak, milk, dessert etc. completely opposite of Dr. Oz previous guest, both on the same show.
So how is Dr. Oz credible? I am so confused and have decided now to no longer watch his show. It's too many times he hawks vitamins and supplements and I bet if I did a through search I would see where some guests said, do not take them as they can be dangerous. I have seen at least one show like that, just don't remember who the guest was.
Mamet Oz is a well meaning and educational TV host, but first and foremost he is a heart surgeon. Now with his daughter also having a TV show, I just wonder how he is operating.

Dairy Food & Painful Hands Experiment

Today is Monday March 26, 2012 and I have been doing a mainly plan based way of living since Tuesday March 20th. That means I have had chicken once, baked, no salt, without toppings except a little honey. Yesterday a Sunday I took a little boy out for pizza and I ordered a ravioli dinner which came with home made fresh garlic bread.
I knew before I was half-way finished I had enough, but I ate it all anyway. I wanted to know how I would feel eating like I used to. I felt like a an over weight hog when I was done. Within a half an hour I had a headache. Cheese?
It took five hours before I felt somewhat normal again, still having a slight headache, and I have noticed I sleep better doing this plant based way of life.
As the night comes to a close and I fell asleep I was wakened by hand pain. Yes I have been on the computer and knew I wasn't wearing my hand splints since the first night and they did make a significant difference. I woke with not only hand pain but my hands are now puffy again. So I am not sure to contribute it to just not wearing the hand gear, or both, the food I eat. I have chosen to attribute it to both because I do know for  a fact, I simply felt better for six days without eating all the crap, stopped eating burgers which I love, and really and simply ate fruit, nuts and raisins in my oatmeal with cinnamon, hard boiled eggs, rice, and stayed with that.
This week I'll start making more rice, add vegetables and more salads. Salads, I love them. I add mandarin oranges, nuts and raisins. I know my system worked better too!:) Try it, you just might like it.
PS by the way it has really been proven, most of our health problems come from inflammatory diseases. This way of food living truly helps. Off to ride my bike.

Twin Pines York New Salem Pa.

How many of us are lucky enough to live close to a market, no not a grocery store, but more like a Farm Market, or Farmers Market? I know I am.
In case your not familiar with places like Twin Pines, let me tell you a few things about this market. I stopped in this morning to just get two things and happy I left most of my money home. As you know in this world of wanting vs. needing, wanting sometimes over rules the brain.
At Twin Pines here's what makes wanting easier. It isn't just the food, but the people. Go to a chain supermarket. Everyone needs conversations, so we wait and wait in very long lines. I prefer to save gas and time, may spend more at a market, but I guarantee this. You won't see people at Twin Pines with scraggly hair, tattoos all over, chewing gum with wide open mouths, and a poor attitude. Do I sound judgemental? I'm really not but I do observe a lot.
When I talk about the people, I am talking neighbors who care. These people who own and work at Twin Pines are kind, funny, helpful and hard workers. I also know the owner is a person who is not judgemental. While I don't know the owner personally, I had an incident happen one day which could have ended a lot worse for a child if we were in a business-like supermarket chain where people have become numb. Not all but many. I won't go into the incident as details aren't important here and I wouldn't want to be responsible for inviting another to do the same thing.
Twin Pines offers a fresh bakery, fresh meat counter which I am at at least once a week, great dairy products, a fresh vegetable area and all of the non grocery items you may need, as well as staples. Remember as it has been said many times over the years, shop outside isles for a healthier you. Better Yet, Shop Twin Pines.
