Ladies, Vocal Fry Voice, Pretense

As I listened to a woman this morning talk about water contamination, she suddenly sounded different almost like she had a scratchy voice, but she didn't. This is what's known as vocal fry voice and it is usually women, younger women who do it. There are some older women, but not many. These are young women who feel that if they lower their voice, they sound more important and smarter. Rarely young men also do it-What the hell is wrong with them ?
I just finished telling a young lady who was visiting about this. She said she never heard of it. While we were having a relaxed chat she sounded like anyone else. Then it happened. She started talking about the reason she was here, a professional reason and her voice dropped. Is this a sign of insecurity ? You have to lower your voice to sound scratchy? Why? You know your job, career, position and you get paid. Stop the pretense ! You don't sound smarter and more intelligent. You sound annoying. You sound like you maybe have a sore throat. The problem is you switch it off and on. Remember Vocal FRY voice. Bottom line, you are a fake !

I love making my bags and am getting more practice with design and styles, and in a few days will be making more walker bags. I know I am very fair with prices because I put myself in someone elses place. All of my products are triple stitched for durability. Thanks a lot for looking.

New Bags ! Sinners get ready !

Okay I am joking about sinners, but he who is without...Anyway I am getting ready for my new website sometime this week and making a few bags I thought were cute. The Dice bag has an inside zipper pocket, is a tote with two good sized handles, is 22.00 incl S&H
Now the next bag is for the Ladies Wines. We all hate those brown bags don't we. Everyone knows what we have as we skulk around to see who's looking :) Imagine bumping into the local Pastor? Anyway, this bag is 18.00 incl S&H, a tote, just right for two bottles or knitting, or magazines  and anything you want.
Thank you have a great snowy day. What a great day to be outside, my kind of Viking Weather !!!

A LadiesToolbox Times Two-Ron Myrnes

Not for ladies only, however good to know stuff. Women, don't count on men to do it all as far as things that need to be fixed. It costs you in the long run and not just money. It costs you a sense of, I can do it, and Independence.

So a basic tool box consist of the usual:
       hammer,
two screwdrivers, a flat heard and a Philips.
       Screws and nails
But to go further, if you don't know, take a lesson and Lowe's is great for helping women. Buy yourself a drill with a box of assorted drill pieces. Just a  little while ago when putting a bed together I though , uh oh, I don't have  a wrench to fit this huge screw. It was a hexagon shape, so for the heck of it looked into my little box with all the different pieces to fit my drill and there it was. One that would fit the screw. I inserted it into my drill and zip...Zzz it went in like ease. Yea, I didn't need help, didn't need to learn, explored on my own and did it myself. What a feeling of satisfaction.
The past few years I somehow got way from my tools and as I did I think I lost some of that old pizazz, but now refreshed and at it again. I still do need help of course and have a guy who at times works with me and a budget.
Soon he'll be back, hanging/putting it up an awning, or installing it I should say. He is very fair with prices, works with my time and schedule but most of all is so very honest and  a decent human being. While it seems hard to find a person like that, well okay it is. I am simply very lucky to know Ron Myrnes and his work ethic. If you live in or around York Pa. Call him-887-4219

The second toolbox is for help situations with kids and yourself or anyone you know. It's called a wellness toolbox. In this box you keep, and don't forget to let your kids decorate theirs how they want, and so you place a phone number or two for friends you can call when stressed, a puzzle, a magazine, a favorite movie, a doctors phone number, the pharmacy on the same paper, a music Cd, crayons and keep  hobby stuff close by. You also need to get out. No money?
Walk, look at your town, take pictures if you have a camera-if you don't ask people if they have one they would be willing to let go and you do something in return. Change your diet. Get a friend and get creative. Walk a pet, volunteer, be a friend. Find a church. There's nothing like having faith. Good luck, stay healthy, and start that toolbox.

The Tootise Roll Post Office, York New Salem Pa.

Yep, that's what I call it! Nothing like a tootsie rool to start my day, after eggs or oatmeal that is. Here's something you should know about this post office. It's personal. Keep it here and keep it going. Let's not lose the people who work there. Chris and Kay couldn't be nicer to  consumers who come in. We all have tough days, but if Chris or Kay do they don't show it, instead will say to many, how are you doing today, and make comments about some story someone told them.
This is a community Post Office, not at all like you might visit in a small city or even in one a short distance away. Small town post offices are needed more than some larger offices. in York New Salem, people who visit this Post Office seem to know one another, and if they don't they get a pleasant greeting from a stranger. I say hello or good morning to people who I pass. Yeah I know, I'm strange:) It's just a nice thing to do. Many elderly people use  the time to go to the Post Office as a way to get a walk in, exercise, sunshine, and of course mail a letter. They need this Post Office. So do I.
On the counter these ladies provide a bucket of seasonal candy and it would be nice if a few who could afford to, chip in and buy a bag or two. Hey what about Cookie Friday? People who have time could make cookies or buy cookies from TWIN PINES  just a short, two minute car ride away. Fresh bakery brought to the York New Salem Post Office, bought at Twin Pines. Now that's community! Thank you Chris and Kay! Love those Tootsie rolls:)
